Living, learning and leading are brought together with the Day One Friday Forum, a weekly one-hour lecture taken by all Day One students and delivered by the Day One instructor, MSU faculty/staff, and guest leaders from the community. Forum content focuses on leadership development, character education, and an understanding of social and civic responsibilities. This instruction is reinforced throughout the week when Action Teams convene for their weekly one-hour meetings. This level of individualized instruction links Forum content with the leadership challenges experienced at the individual, group, or community level.
Do right. Do good. Do well.
The Day One Leadership Community is just one of many initiatives within the MSU Leadership Continuum. Students who complete the semester-long program may elect to pursue a Leadership Studies Minor that will complement any of the 100-plus academic majors on campus. Day One students are also encouraged to compete for membership in the upperclass program, the Montgomery Leadership Program.
